Saturday 3rd August 2019
Under the stage at The Kings Hall.
10:30 am - 12:30 pm
This workshop is for all who have an interest in Chinese Brush Painting, both beginners and those with some experience. After quickly learning about the traditional materials, Anne will demonstrate how to paint bamboo. You will then paint your own examples using examples supplied by Anne. You will complete your painting with a moon. You will then paint a panda and combine it with a branch of bamboo. Anne will give personal one-to-one assistance throughout the workshop.
Anne has been demonstrating and teaching Chinese Brush Painting for some 20 years and enjoys bringing this art form to others. She is Secretary and Joint Chairman of the Yorkshire Group of the national Chinese Brush Painters Society and organises monthly workshops at Pool in Wharfedale.
You will work on xuan paper with Chinese painting colours and ink, using Chinese brushes.
Most materials will be provided although you will need to bring a few items to get the most out of the workshop.
Materials to bring with you
4 pebbles or coins (to act as paper weights).
We will provide
2 water pots, some kitchen roll and palette, xuan paper, paint, and ink.
Anne will also provide a felt and the brushes.
