Friday 2nd August 2019
On the stage in The Kings Hall.
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Create a beautiful sunset watercolour with Jeremy Taylor.
Born and bred within sight of Ilkley Moor, Jeremy has painted for over 40 years, first in watercolour, lately more in oil. Despite no formal art training, he was encouraged by early successes to paint professionally, winning many awards, including being the youngest artist ever elected to membership of the British Watercolour Society. Favouring a bold and vigorous approach to painting, he believes that in painting, as in golf, the "fewer strokes the better". He aims to catch the light, especially the effect of a dramatic sky on a wild landscape. "I rate a painting a success if it makes the viewer want to get out and go for a walk!" When not painting, Jeremy enjoys natural history, old books, and long walks with his old dog.
